The Writing Place

I dedicate the following poem to all writers … like me, they also know all about “The Writing Place”.

The Writing Place

by Sherry Dixon

I go to this place to find peace and purpose

                to find myself.

I go to this place by invitation only

                an invitation from my soul.

I cannot enter this place when my mind demands

it is my heart that is the gatekeeper.

I become silent to enter, enveloped in a thick soft blanket of silence

I no longer feel my heart beating.

I arrive at this place anywhere and at any time

when my heart and soul are in harmony.

I do not realize the loveliness of this place when I am there

and yet after, I remember it vividly.

I remember the serenity, the completeness

                the totality of being.

I know when I am there but I do not know

                at what point I leave.

But I remember … I am still … I am silent

and I am there again, I am me again.

  • Sherry, I know you have had this book inside you for a long time, and our conversation today made want to read this story and I know my teenage daughters will too!

    • Thank you for your kind comments. I very much look forward to Natural Destiny being in every school library as well as in every place that sells books.
